Boadicea Bar & Restaurant is the perfect place to celebrate Christmas in style!

Located just a stone’s throw from the river on King Edward’s quay, we boast an extensive drinks menu and serve delicious fresh food.  Combining Colchester’s historic past with modern, eclectic tastes our large rustic bar area, exposed brickwork and private dining spaces deliver a destination venue that wows and is the perfect escape from the cold.

Our in-house DJ on Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm-2am will serve up your perfect party ambience to see in Christmas and the New Year!

Honey roasted parsnip soup with homemade warm bread  V* / GF

Beetroot cured salmon served with carpaccio of beetroot, Granny Smith jelly and horseradish cream  GF 

Ham and mustard terrine served with pickled pears, pear compote and caramelised walnuts  GF

Roasted baby carrots served with carrot puree, goat’s curd, hazelnut dukkha and quince V* / GF

Traditional turkey served with roast potatoes, stuffing, pigs in blankets, brussel sprouts, baby carrots, turkey gravy and cranberry sauce

Vegan Roast: winter lentil stuffed red pepper, roast potatoes, baby carrots, brussel sprouts, stuffing and vegan gravy  VE / V* 

Roasted cod served with slow cooked winter lentils, baby carrots and fennel cress  GF 

Slow braised beef cooked in red wine and bacon, served with potato puree and baby onions  GF 

Potato gnocchi served with caramelised Jerusalem artichoke puree, roasted artichokes and wild mushrooms, topped with Lincolnshire Poacher cheese  V*

Christmas pudding served with traditional brandy sauce and cinnamon ice cream  V / GF

Milk chocolate cheesecake served with salted caramel ice cream and salted popcorn  V / NF

Lemon posset with lemon curd, white chocolate, meringue and malt cream  V / GF

Poached and roasted pear with white wine jelly, oat and seed granola and pear sorbet  VE / GF

The Dull Bit

Our Christmas Party Menu is available for pre-booked groups. We ask for a £10 deposit per person to be made at the time of booking which will be deducted from your final bill. There will be only one bill per party for food and drink.  Any non-arrivals on the day will be charged in full.

For groups of 10 or more, a 10% service charge will be added to your total bill which is shared out amongst the staff at Boadicea. Please complete your Party Selection / Menu choices as soon as possible – please note no changes can be made to the menu selection less than 24 hours prior to booking.
